EAMN - Meteor and Leonid 98 Images

This photo was taken using T-Max 400 Print film.  It was negative scanned by the Director Roger Vodicka. The above is a picture of two Leonids trains which by this stage had been visible for around 15 minutes. The Pleadies are to the top left Corner.  The train on the left was produced by a -7 Leonid.  The train on the right was produced by a -9 Leonid.  Both meteors lit up the surrounding desert.

This photo was taken using T-Max 400 Print film.  It was negative scanned by the Director Roger Vodicka. The above meteor is the one responsible for the train on the above photo.  the train left by it is on the left hand side of the print under the Pleadies.  The meteor was a -7 Leonid

This photo was taken using T-Max 400 Print film.  It was negative scanned by the Director Roger Vodicka. Another Leonid meteor of around -5 magnitude.  This meteor also left a train, but was not photographed.

The above photo was taken by Caroline Van Dissel, also at Woomera on the same night as the above above train photos.  This train was photographed in the South and shows much drift and structure in the train.

The same trains as photographed in image 1 above.  After some contrast enhancment fine detail is visable in the trains.  The different orientation of the two photos (Image 1 and 5) is due to the fact that Image one was scanned from a negative, Image 5 from a print.
